How does the bidding process work?
The bidding process is carried out strictly online and is divided into two parts: Preliminary Bidding and On-site Bidding.
Preliminary Bidding
At SalvageBoatsAuction.com you can place preliminary bids, or pre-bids, before and during the live auction, up to two minutes or two units before the vehicle appears on the block. When you pre-offer, you are making an incremental value offer on the vehicle prior to the sale. Your pre-bid will be represented during the live auction and may be the winning bid if no higher bid is submitted by any other bidder during the pre-bid phase or in the live auction. Please note that when there is a tie between the pre-bid and live bid amounts, the virtual (live) bidder prevails as the highest bidder on the item. The pre-bid is open to all SalvageBoatsAuction.com members who meet the minimum deposit requirements.
live bidding
From the Live Auctions menu, click Join Auctions and place a bid on your computer, selecting one of the auto-increment options or choosing your own bid amount (Monster Bid). Compete against other members to become the highest bidder, and if your bid is the highest when the dynamic circular countdown stops, you win the sale of the vehicle.
At this point, sellers who have placed a minimum offer or stated that the vehicle was approved for sale can directly counter-offer the higher offer after the sale is complete. Even when Sellers do not counter-offer these vehicles, the highest bid in an offer remains open for Seller's acceptance until 6:00 p.m. m. the next business day after the sale.
Buy now
Ignore offers on certain vehicles labeled Buy It Now! While you can still bid on these vehicles if you want, buyers can also buy them immediately for a predetermined price. After clicking the Buy Now button, you will be redirected to a page with the invoice that you must pay within 3 business days. If you do not pay us the invoice via bank transfer or direct deposit within 3 business days, the lot will be relisted, you will forfeit the security deposit and you will pay a cancellation fee.
